PCBs were used from the 1930s to the 1970s until they were phased out due to the impact they had on the environment, particularly in fish and mammals.
Conclusions
Safe Work Australia conclude that, "there is sufficient evidence to provide a strong presumption that human exposure to PCBs may result in the development of cancer."
